What developments do you see for the learning industry in the next 12 months? Without a doubt, we will see more and more organizations moving to the “software-as-a-service” model for development and management of training, and away from the legacy Learning Management Systems that are installed on internally supported servers. The faster implementation, lower upfront cost and higher level of support provided by hosted iLMS and LCMS providers, such as ePath Learning, are benefits that are just now reaching the market place. - Dudley Molina, President and CEO, ePath Learning, Inc. What is the importance of constantly refining the content of elearning courses? What is the importance of having an accurate and understood message? I don’t believe elearning should be constantly refined just for the sake of change. Courses certainly need to be changed if the content becomes inaccurate or test results indicate that learners do not comprehend the content. The fascinating thing about elearning is that done right, courses can be instantaneously updated and redeployed – literally with the click of a button. - Dudley Molina, President & CEO, ePath Learning, Inc. What do you see as the single most important benefit for an organization to implement elearning in place of ‘classroom’ training? To single out just one benefit as the “most important” is a bit difficult. Anytime/anywhere availability, a more consistent message, higher retention rates, higher speed of delivery (particularly to a large and geographically distributed learner population), automated testing and record keeping (which is vital to compliance training); these are all compelling benefits of elearning over classroom training. However, I believe the most important benefit to an organization is that elearning provides all of these benefits, while being a more efficient means of training. Not only is it more efficient to develop and deliver, (which lowers the cost of training), but elearning is also more efficient to take. That means learners spend less time learning and more time at work, which is an increase in productivity that can drop straight to the bottom line. - Dudley Molina, President & CEO, ePath Learning, Inc. Realistically, can elearning only be implemented in large, global companies? Absolutely no! Not too long ago the general rule of thumb was that elearning implementations to a learner audience of less than 300 people just didn’t make economic sense – development took a long time and a lot of money. As I said previously, that isn’t the case today. In addition to our large, global customers, ePath Learning has seen a strong adoption by small and mid-sized organizations that are taking advantage of the latest web-hosted LCMS and iLMS tools offered as a subscription service. These organizations can now afford enterprise-class solutions that were out of reach with legacy LMS systems. - Dudley Molina, President & CEO, ePath Learning, Inc. Read 0 Comments... >> |
